Data Engineer – AILight

AILight is looking for a hands-on Data Engineer to accelerate the development of our computer vision models. You will own the end-to-end process of sourcing, building, and curating high-quality datasets tailored to rapidly evolving research and product needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and build pipelines for collecting and processing large-scale media datasets
• Source and curate datasets across diverse scenarios and use cases as product focus evolves
• Collaborate closely with the algo team to ensure data quality meets model training requirements
• Stay current with academic benchmarks and emerging techniques to anticipate new data needs
• Manage dataset versioning, storage, and documentation

Requirements:

• 3–5 years of experience in data engineering or ML data roles, preferably with video or image data
• Strong Python skills and hands-on experience with media processing tools
• Experience with large-scale data scraping, filtering, and curation
• Ability to read research papers and translate dataset methodologies into practice
• Self-directed and comfortable with shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment

Nice to Have:

• Familiarity with synthetic data generation techniques
• Experience with annotation platforms (CVAT, Label Studio)
• Exposure to academic computer vision benchmarks and challenges
