Junior Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Power the Engine: Take a key role in developing and refining the backend services of our flagship product, "Fortify," ensuring high availability and low-latency processing of complex AI data. Scalable
• Architecture: Collaborate closely with the Product and Research teams to translate complex requirements into efficient, scalable, and maintainable code. Data Orchestration: Design and implement data pipelines and logic to ensure end-to-end functionality of new features and PoCs.
• Optimize & Polish: Identify and fix performance bottlenecks in the API layer and database queries, ensuring the system remains performant even when handling high-frequency real-time data.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work alongside algorithm developers and DevOps to integrate cutting-edge face recognition engines into stable, production-ready backend services.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: BSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, related technical field or relevant experience.
• Experience: 1 year of professional experience in a backend development.
• Backend Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with Python development and FastAPI.
• Data Basics: Familiarity with NoSQL databases, specifically MongoDB.
• Real-Time Exposure: An understanding of real-time data flows (like Kafka/RabitMQ) and an interest in the challenges of processing high-frequency updates and event-driven logic.
• Communication: Exceptional communication skills - you’ll be talking to Product and stakeholders constantly to align on vision and execution.
• Core Fundamentals: Solid understanding of Python
• Backend Basics: Familiarity with Python or Node.js and an understanding of how to consume/design RESTful APIs.
• Environment: Comfortable working in a Linux/Ubuntu environment.

Advantages

• Familiarity with Docker and containerized environments.
• Experience or familiarity with Redis for caching or state management.
