C++ Developer

A leading defense company is seeking a C++ Developer for a challenging position focused on developing advanced, high-performance systems in a Linux environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain C++ libraries and applications for Linux.
• Build and manage shared object files (.so) on Linux and expose them for use in C# via P/Invoke, C++/CLI, or other integration methods.
• Migrate existing C++ codebases from Windows to Linux (using GCC/Clang toolchains).
• Optimize existing C++ code for performance (CPU and I/O workloads).
• Tune memory usage, reduce memory leaks, and perform profiling and debugging using Linux tools.
• Ensure compatibility, stability, and high performance of C++ modules across different Linux distributions.
• Collaborate with C# developers to ensure seamless integration and interface alignment.
• Write clean, well-documented code covered by unit tests.

Required Qualifications:

• Strong proficiency in C++ (C++11/14/17) with experience in modern development practices.
• Solid Linux development experience: compilation with GCC/Clang, working with Makefiles/CMake, and using debugging and profiling tools such as gdb, valgrind, perf, gprof, or heaptrack.
• Experience creating and maintaining shared libraries (.so) on Linux.
• Integration experience: wrapping native libraries for use in C# applications using P/Invoke, SWIG, C++/CLI, or similar methods.
• Experience porting C++ projects from Windows to Linux.
• Performance optimization skills: CPU and memory analysis, algorithm improvements, and latency reduction.
• Experience with memory tuning and memory leak detection in Linux.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with C++ development on Windows and Windows-to-Linux migration challenges.
• Knowledge of .NET or C# and experience integrating native modules into managed environments.
• Familiarity with container tools such as Docker for development and testing.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines for C++ projects.
• Understanding of multithreading, low-level systems programming, or real-time systems.
