Senior Backend Engineer (Node.js / TypeScript) – AI Fintech Startup

About the Company:

We are a fast-growing, product-driven AI & Fintech Infrastructure startup. Our core platform completely automates and optimizes the detection, analysis, and management of fraud and chargebacks for global eCommerce businesses at high scale.

This isn't an enterprise environment or a service company – we are building real, heavy backend infrastructure powered by data, automation, and AI/LLM integrations, analyzing massive amounts of transactions in real-time. We operate in a fast-paced environment with a small, elite, and highly technical team.

The Role:

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will join our core product team in a full hands-on role. You will have deep technological ownership over backend features, core systems, and cloud infrastructure from end-to-end. You will work closely with Product, AI, and platform teams to build scalable, distributed cloud systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement core backend infrastructure, distributed systems, and microservices.
• Own features end-to-end: design, build, deploy, measure, and maintain.
• Build APIs and foundational infrastructure for our AI product, integrating with LLMs and smart components.
• Improve performance, scalability, and reliability of existing real-time systems.
• Foster a high-standard, fun, and highly professional engineering culture.

Requirements:

• Production Experience: 4+ years of professional backend development experience (we care about engineering depth and system thinking, not just counting years!).
• Core Stack: Strong, hands-on experience with Node.js and TypeScript – a must.
• Cloud Architecture: Solid experience designing and building systems on AWS.
• Containers & DevOps: Proven experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments – a must.
• Mindset: A startup-oriented professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, loves high ownership, and can build things from scratch.
