We are looking for a commercially driven Director of Business Development to lead strategic growth initiatives, partnerships, and transaction activities across European markets within the renewable energy and infrastructure sectors.
This is a high-impact senior role focused on cross-border business development, strategic partnerships, complex commercial transactions, and long-term international growth initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Lead business development and strategic growth activities across European markets
- Identify, develop, and execute strategic partnerships, commercial opportunities, and cross-border transactions
- Build and manage relationships with customers, partners, investors, developers, and other key industry stakeholders
- Lead complex commercial discussions, negotiations, and long-term agreements
- Evaluate new market opportunities, industry trends, and strategic expansion initiatives
- Develop business cases, commercial models, and financial analyses to support decision-making processes
- Collaborate closely with finance, legal, operations, technical, and executive teams throughout transaction processes
- Support international growth initiatives and contribute to long-term business expansion strategy
- Leverage previous experience with US markets as a strong advantage
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in business development, M&A, corporate development, strategic partnerships, or commercial leadership roles
- Proven experience within the renewable energy, energy infrastructure, or adjacent sectors – mandatory
- Strong track record in leading complex commercial transactions, strategic partnerships, or cross-border deals
- Experience working across European markets – mandatory
- Experience with US markets – significant advantage
- Strong financial modelling, valuation, and commercial structuring capabilities
- Experience working with multiple international stakeholders including investors, partners, customers, and senior leadership
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced and evolving international environment
- Fluent English – mandatory; additional European languages are an advantage
