Role Description
VEXARA is seeking an experiencedMEMS Engineer Advisor to support the design, modeling, optimization, and validation of advanced MEMS-based acoustic sensing systems.
This is a remote, part-time contract advisory role, open internationally and requiring approximately 10–20 hours per month.
The advisor will contribute to:
- MEMS acoustic sensor architecture and optimization
- Review and guidance of simulation models
- Design validation and testing methodologies
- Material and process selection
- Manufacturing and fabrication strategy
- Integration of MEMS devices into larger sensing systems
- Technical review and strategic engineering guidance
The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams spanning acoustics, signal processing, electronics, and system engineering.
For candidates demonstrating strong alignment with VEXARA’s long-term vision and technical direction, there may be an opportunity to evolve into a permanent Advisory Board position.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in MEMS design, modeling, and simulation
- Strong proficiency with tools such as COMSOL, Coventor, ANSYS, or equivalent
- Proven experience in MEMS fabrication processes, testing, and optimization
- Strong understanding of acoustic sensing principles and system-level integration
- Familiarity with signal processing concepts and sensor physics
- Experience supporting prototype-to-product development cycles
- Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, C++, or equivalent analytical environments
- Strong independent problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
Preferred Background:
- Electrical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Physics
- MEMS / Microsystems Engineering
- Acoustics or related fields
Experience with high-sensitivity sensing systems, resonant MEMS structures, coherent sensing, or advanced acoustic technologies is highly valued.
