What You’ll Do
- Research and analyze vulnerabilities in enterprise networking equipment (e.g., MikroTik, Fortinet, and similar vendors)
- Reverse engineer RouterOS, FortiOS, and other proprietary network operating systems
- Develop exploit chains across management interfaces, routing protocols, and VPN implementations
- Build automated tooling for large-scale firmware analysis and vulnerability discovery
Requirements
- Deep hands-on experience with MikroTik RouterOS and/or Fortinet FortiOS internals
- Strong reverse engineering skills focused on network appliance firmware
- Proven ability to identify and exploit vulnerabilities in network services, management planes, and routing protocols
- Strong understanding of core networking: BGP, OSPF, IPsec, SSL-VPN, firewall architectures
- Strong C/C++ skills for low-level systems and exploit development
Nice to Have
- Published CVEs or security advisories on MikroTik, Fortinet, Cisco, Juniper, or similar vendors
- Experience reverse engineering proprietary (non-Linux-based) network operating systems
- Familiarity with SNMP, TR-069, and device management protocols
- Experience applying fuzzing techniques to network protocol implementations
- Experience building systems with LLMs and AI agents
- Background in offensive security / red team operations in enterprise environments
