Senior Optical R&D Engineer

A multidisciplinary technology company in the renewable energy and photovoltaic equipment industry is looking for a Senior Optical R&D Engineer to join the team.

The company develops advanced production equipment and innovative laser-based technologies for the clean energy industry, with a strong focus on photovoltaic cell manufacturing and next-generation solar technologies. Its proprietary printing technology is designed to increase solar cell efficiency while reducing PV manufacturing costs.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize advanced optical and electro-optical systems for laser-based production equipment.
• Lead R&D activities for multidisciplinary optical modules, from concept and feasibility through design, integration, and validation.
• Work on complex laser-based technologies for photovoltaic and semiconductor-related manufacturing applications.
• Define optical system requirements, perform analysis, simulations, experiments, and performance evaluations.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software, and process engineering teams to integrate optical modules into complex systems.
• Troubleshoot optical performance issues, support system bring-up, and drive continuous improvement of optical designs.

Required Qualifications

• M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Electro-Optics, Physics, Optical Engineering, or a related field – must.
• At least 5 years of experience developing multidisciplinary optical systems and laser-based optical modules – must.
• Strong hands-on experience with optical system design, integration, testing, and validation – must.
• Experience working with laser-based systems or advanced electro-optical technologies – must.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary R&D environment involving optics, mechanics, electronics, and process development.
• High level of English, both written and verbal – must.
