Q-Factor, a newly established startup, is building a full-stack quantum computer using neutral atoms. Recent years have seen the rapid rise of neutral atoms as a leading modality in the exciting field of quantum computing. Our fantastic team, born out of decades of combined experience, is utilizing state of art technology together with a unique novel approach towards realizing a fully working quantum processing unit with unmatched performances. We’re looking for exceptional people to join our growing vibrant team of physicists, engineers and algorithms developers.
We are looking for a optical engineer to design and build optical modules and lenses of our quantum computer system. The position is suited for part-time/freelancer. You will work closely with physicists and engineers in realizing an advanced optical architecture capable of delivering outstanding performances.
Responsibilities:
- Define, specify and conduct high level optical design and architecture
- Work with various suppliers and vendors on detailed designs and manufacturing
- Design, build and execute tests of optical modules and components
- Collaborate with physics and engineering teams on driving novel optical concepts
Qualifications:
- Degree in physics or optical engineering
- 5+ years of experience in advanced optical system design
- Prior experience in optical design of a large variety of optical elements
- Prior experience working with optical vendors and suppliers
- Fluency in optical design software (such as Zeemax/Code5)
- Good interpersonal skills and teamwork capability
- Self reliance and high motivation
- Availability: three days per week
