Research Assistant Position – Surgical Oncology Research Laboratory

The Surgical Oncology Research Laboratory at the Department of Surgery B, Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center, is seeking a motivated and talented research assistant to join our growing translational research team.

Our laboratory focuses on translational and basic research in surgical oncology, with particular interest in peritoneal surface malignancies, tumor immunology, melanoma, colorectal cancer, and innovative intraoperative technologies and biomarker discovery. We investigate mechanisms of tumor progression, response to HIPEC and immunotherapy, and develop novel approaches aimed at improving surgical oncology outcomes.

As part of a high-volume tertiary surgical oncology center, we benefit from direct integration between the laboratory and clinical practice, with access to unique clinical samples and close collaboration between surgeons, scientists, and clinicians. Our goal is to translate laboratory discoveries into meaningful clinical applications that improve patient care.

The position includes participation in applicative translational research projects involving patient-derived samples, tumor microenvironment analysis, biomarker characterization, and evaluation of therapeutic responses in clinically relevant models.

We are looking for a skilled, enthusiastic, and highly motivated MSc graduate to join our team and participate in cutting-edge translational research projects.

Qualifications:

• MSc degree in life sciences, immunology, molecular biology, biotechnology, or related field.
• Hands-on experience with flow cytometry, cell culture, and molecular biology techniques.
• Experience with animal models (mice) – an advantage.
• Background in immunology, cancer biology, or translational research – an advantage.
• Ability to work independently and manage research projects.
• Excellent organizational skills, reliability, motivation, and initiative.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
