Advocate (Temp.)

Description:

We are looking for an Advocate (for a temporary role of 6-9 months and option to extension) that will handle the following:

Main Purpose of the Role - Provide legal review of the company’s maritime contractual documentation, including drafting and improving contractual language, with a particular focus on responsibility, liability, indemnification and insurance-related matters.

Main tasks:

Legal Review of Company’s Contracts - Identify and analyze legal risks in contracts, insurance policies/certificates and LOIs that may expose the company to increased liability, responsibility, indemnification or insurance obligations, and propose appropriate legal solutions.

Negotiate contractual terms and insurance coverage terms with vendors, and recommend practical legal solutions. Monitor the implementation of agreed legal solutions through to contract execution.

Legal Support to Company’s Units in Liability and Insurance Related Issues - Advise relevant company units on liability and insurance-related matters, (including DG, claims, procurement, key accounts, administration, HR and other relevant functions). Support the improvement of the company’s internal procedures.

Improving Company’s Standard Wordings - Improve the company’s standard contractual wording in line with industry developments, and support the implementation of such wording in the company’s contracts.

• Having a Law degree - A must.
• Certified lawyer in Israel, admitted to the Israeli Bar Association
• At least two years’ experience working on commercial contracts, including client-facing work and negotiations - an advantage (we can consider also experience from a different law vertical).
• Experience in a global company – an advantage.
• Knowledge of insurance - an advantage.
• Strong negotiating skills
• Excellent written and spoken English, including the ability to negotiate and present in English and strong familiarity with legal terminology - A must.
