Software & Algorithms Engineer

An innovative biotechnology company focused on reducing the cost of DNA sequencing to drive significant advancements in biology and medicine.

The company has developed an advanced platform capable of sequencing tens of thousands of genomes per year at a low cost, all while improving throughput and accuracy.

Located in central Tel Aviv (accessible by train), the company operates on a hybrid model with two days of remote work per week.

The Role

• Join a dynamic R&D team to develop high-performance software.
• Design, implement, and optimize bioinformatics and analytical algorithms.
• Write robust, efficient code primarily using C and C++.
• Work closely with cloud-native infrastructure to scale the company’s analytical pipelines.

• Core Languages: C, C++
• Secondary Languages (Familiarity): Python, Java, R, Rust
• Infrastructure & Cloud: AWS, GCP, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes
• Workflow Management: Prefect, Airflow, Luigi
• Pipeline Languages: WDL, Nextflow, Snake

Requirements-

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
• 5 years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer.
• 5 years of hands-on experience with C and C++.
• Proven experience in implementing analytical algorithms in C, C++, similar languages, or low-level code.
• Experience with bioinformatics algorithms (an advantage).
• Familiarity with public cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure), Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of workflow orchestration systems (Prefect, Airflow, Luigi).
• Familiarity with pipeline languages like WDL, Nextflow, or Snake (an advantage).
