Oraqon Labs is looking for a Engineering Manager to establish and lead the company’s engineering function responsible for New Product Introduction (NPI), transfer from R&D to manufacturing, engineering change control, configuration management, and production readiness of complex multidisciplinary products.

This is a senior, hands-on role for an experienced engineering leader who knows how to take a product from a working prototype into a repeatable, controlled, manufacturable product. The role will initially require strong independent execution and ownership, with the expectation to build and lead a dedicated engineering team as the company scales.

• Lead end-to-end NPI — New Product Introduction activities.
• Own the transfer process from R&D to manufacturing for complex hardware-based systems.
• Establish and manage ECO / ECR / Engineering Change Control processes.
• Own product configuration, BOM structure, release process, documentation, and version control.
• Define manufacturing, assembly, integration, calibration, and production test processes.
• Work closely with R&D, system engineering, hardware, software, FPGA, optics, operations, procurement, and quality.
• Manage technical interfaces with subcontractors, EMS partners, mechanical suppliers, optical suppliers, and manufacturing vendors.
• Drive production readiness, yield improvement, cost reduction, quality improvement, and failure-analysis processes.
• Build the engineering infrastructure required to move from prototype builds to repeatable production.
• Over time, build and lead a Product / Manufacturing / NPI Engineering team.

• 10–15+ years of experience in Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, NPI, or related engineering leadership roles.
• Proven experience transferring complex products from development to manufacturing.
• Strong hands-on experience with NPI, ECO, ECR, configuration management, BOM management, and engineering releases.
• Experience with multidisciplinary products involving hardware, firmware/software, mechanics, system integration, and production testing.
• Ability to operate independently, build processes from the ground up, and take full ownership.
• Experience working with subcontractors, suppliers, and manufacturing partners.
• Strong understanding of production processes, documentation, quality, calibration, test procedures, and failure analysis.
• Practical, detail-oriented, highly organized, and execution-driven.

• Experience with defense systems, electro-optics, LiDAR, radar, robotics, medical devices, embedded systems, or other complex hardware products.
• Experience with PLM / ERP systems such as Priority, Agile, Arena, Windchill, SAP, or similar.
• Experience building an engineering function or team in a growing company.

The ideal candidate has already taken complex products through the difficult transition from R&D to real manufacturing. They understand that a product is not truly ready when it works in the lab — it is ready when it has a controlled BOM, clear configuration, proper documentation, stable production tests, defined release processes, and a manufacturing flow that can be repeated with consistent quality.

We are looking for someone who can start as a hands-on leader, create order, build the required engineering processes, work across all technical and operational disciplines, and later build a strong engineering team around them.
