Key Responsibilities:
- Administration & Maintenance: Install, configure, and upgrade SQL Server instances in production environments.
- Availability & Resilience: Design, implement, and manage High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions, including AlwaysOn Availability Groups, Failover Clustering, and Log Shipping.
- Backup & Recovery: Define and enforce robust backup policies, ensuring data integrity and recoverability.
- Automation: Develop scripts (T-SQL, PowerShell) to automate routine maintenance tasks.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor and tune performance at both the server and query levels, identify bottlenecks, and manage indexing as needed.
Requirements:
- Professional Experience: At least 3 years of hands-on experience as an Infrastructure DBA in SQL Server environments.
- Technical Expertise: Proven experience with advanced SQL Server versions (2016 and above).
- High Availability: Practical experience in implementing and maintaining AlwaysOn and clustering solutions.
- Education: B.Sc. in Computer Science / Software Engineering or a graduate of a technological military unit.
- Performance Tuning: Strong proficiency with monitoring and tuning tools such as SQL Profiler, Extended Events, and Execution Plans – a significant advantage.
- Certifications: Relevant Microsoft certifications – a strong advantage.
- Additional Skills: Experience with Kubernetes / OpenShift – a strong advantage.
- Databases: Experience with PostgreSQL – a strong advantage.
Soft Skills:
- Ability to work under pressure and troubleshoot issues in real time.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong team player.
- Willingness to work non-standard hours and be on-call for critical incidents.
