Position Summary
We are seeking a Physicist or Thermal Systems Engineer to lead the understanding and optimization of the physical processes at the core of our system.
This role focuses on thermodynamics, heat transfer, and flow behavior, with strong emphasis on translating physical insight into engineering decisions.
The position requires both analytical depth and practical application in real-world systems.
Key Responsibilities
System-Level Physical Modeling
- Develop and analyze models of: Thermodynamic cycles, Heat and mass transfer processes, Fluid flow behavior under varying operating conditions
- Build system-level understanding of performance drivers and limitations
Problem Solving & Root Cause Analysis
- Investigate performance issues and identify root causes
- Analyze complex phenomena such as:
- Thermal instabilities
- Non-linear system behavior
- Coupled flow and heat transfer effects
- Propose and validate solutions
Design Support & Optimization
- Provide physics-based guidance to engineering teams
- Translate theoretical insights into:
- Design improvements
- Operational strategies
- Support trade-off decisions across system constraints
Experimental Correlation
- Interpret experimental data and correlate with models
- Define experiments to validate assumptions and improve understanding
Qualifications
- M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- 7+ years of experience in applied thermal/physical systems
- Strong knowledge of: Thermodynamics/Heat transfer/Fluid dynamics
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with: Two-phase flow/Boiling and condensation phenomena
- Experience in energy systems, cooling systems, or similar domains
- Familiarity with simulation tools
