Mechanical Engineering Manager

Position Summary

We are seeking a senior Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead the mechanical domain within a multidisciplinary R&D organization developing complex thermal-fluid systems.

This role combines technical authority, team leadership, and engineering governance. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that mechanical designs are robust, scalable, and aligned with system-level performance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Design Ownership

• Lead the mechanical design of complex assemblies and subsystems across multiple development programs
• Provide hands-on technical guidance in solving challenging design problems involving:
• Thermal constraints
• Fluid interaction
• Structural and material considerations
• Drive engineering trade-offs between performance, manufacturability, cost, and reliability

Engineering Quality & Methodologies

• Establish and enforce engineering best practices, including:
• DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
• Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Assembly (DFA)
• Tolerance analysis and design validation methods
• Lead structured design reviews at all development stages
• Ensure proper documentation, traceability, and version control

Team Leadership & Development

• Manage and mentor a team of mechanical engineers across different experience levels
• Conduct performance evaluations and define development plans
• Promote a culture of ownership, accountability, and engineering excellence

Execution & Delivery

• Support planning and prioritization of mechanical work across projects
• Ensure timely delivery of high-quality designs under dynamic conditions
• Identify risks early and drive mitigation plans

Qualifications

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering
• 10+ years of experience in mechanical design and product development
• Proven experience leading engineering teams or domains
• Strong background in: Complex system design, Failure analysis and design validation and Experience working in multidisciplinary R&D environments
