Back End Developer

Position: Core Engineer — Backend & Infrastructure | Defense Technology (Stealth-Stage Startup)

We are a stealth-stage defense technology company operating at the intersection of Cybersecurity, Open Source Intelligence, and Generative AI. Our platform is designed to transform large-scale, unstructured digital environments into actionable intelligence — and we are seeking a senior backend engineer to help architect the foundation on which it is built.

This is a founding-team position. The successful candidate will take full ownership of the core backend infrastructure, bridging the gap between AI-driven logic and robust, low-latency systems capable of operating across elite cloud environments and sensitive on-premise infrastructure.

Responsibilities

The role encompasses the design and implementation of scalable microservices forming the backbone of our OSINT engine; development and maintenance of complex, event-driven state machines to manage intricate data lifecycles and asynchronous workflows; deployment and management of high-availability Kubernetes clusters across both cloud and on-premise environments; collaboration on the integration of on-premise, no-API AI solutions into high-performance production pipelines; and end-to-end ownership of CI/CD infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on automation, security, and deployment integrity.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess a minimum of five to seven years of professional experience in backend development, with a demonstrable record of delivering production-grade systems; deep proficiency in Python — specifically FastAPI and Celery — or equivalent high-performance backend languages; proven expertise across major cloud ecosystems, including AWS, GCP, or Azure, as well as hands-on experience managing on-premise infrastructure; production-level experience with Kubernetes, including container networking and persistent storage; a strong architectural understanding of event-driven design, idempotency, and distributed systems; and a security-first engineering philosophy with a working knowledge of cybersecurity principles.

The following will be considered advantageous: experience with vector databases such as Milvus, Qdrant, or Weaviate; a background in data engineering or high-volume data pipeline construction; and prior experience within the Israeli technology ecosystem or elite military technology units.
