Artificial Intelligence Engineer

Position: AI Engineer — Defense Technology (Stealth-Stage Startup)

We are a stealth-stage defense technology company operating at the convergence of artificial intelligence and national security. We are seeking an experienced AI Engineer to serve as our first dedicated machine learning hire and assume a foundational role in shaping the intelligence architecture of our platform.

This is a senior, high-ownership position suited to an engineer who has demonstrated the ability to design, deploy, and iterate on production-grade AI systems in demanding, mission-critical environments.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for integrating advanced AI logic into a microservices-based backend architecture; leading the development and fine-tuning of domain-specific large language models for OSINT and global cybersecurity applications; designing and implementing an automated model evaluation framework utilizing LLM-as-a-Judge methodologies; collaborating with security researchers to engineer adversarially resilient AI systems; and driving the rapid progression of LLM initiatives from proof-of-concept through to production deployment.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess a minimum of three years of professional experience in AI or Data Science, with a verifiable record of shipping and optimizing models in production; deep expertise across the modern generative AI ecosystem, including Hugging Face, PEFT, LoRA, LangChain, and LlamaIndex; a strong command of production engineering principles, including latency optimization, scalability, and system reliability; a working knowledge of cybersecurity concepts and adversarial threat modelling; and the ability to communicate complex technical trade-offs clearly to both engineering and non-technical stakeholders.
