Rust Software Engineer

A highly successful and well-funded retail-tech startup revolutionizing the shopping experience. The company develops an advanced, automated platform utilizing computer vision and AI to enable frictionless, checkout-free shopping in existing supermarkets.

By retrofitting their solution onto current retail environments, they transform brick-and-mortar stores into autonomous digital hubs.

Backed by substantial investment, the company is growing rapidly and is located in Ramat Gan (a short walk from the train station), operating on a hybrid work model with one day from home.

The Role-

• Joining a small, dedicated team of developers, reporting to the Team Leader.
• Developing and scaling high-performance backend systems using Rust running on Linux.
• Designing and implementing distributed systems, working extensively with microservices, Redis, and Kafka.
• Collaborating closely on CI/CD pipelines and Kubernetes environments as the team transitions from on-premises to a modern cloud architecture.
• Taking full ownership of tasks from the initial idea to execution, working on low-latency, algorithmic, and parallel processing challenges.

Requirements-

• 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer.
• Strong understanding of microservice architecture, with hands-on experience developing and deploying microservices.
• Solid background in building event-based and message-driven distributed systems.
• Deep knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals: object-oriented design, code optimization, algorithmic complexity, and working across varied host environments.
• Proven experience in high-performance, decentralized development and parallel processing.
• A track record of building new environments and technologies from the ground up.
• The ability to take full ownership of a task from idea to execution with creativity and initiative.
• Genuine enthusiasm for algorithmic and software challenges.
