Attis Aviation is working in the field of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). The company’s activities include UAS development, flight testing, pilot training, certification, operation, and more. As part of the company’s growth, we are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer.
Position Overview:
Attis Aviation, a prominent player in the field of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), is seeking a dynamic and experienced Mechanical Engineer with 5-6 years of experience in UAV development to join our growing team. In this role, you will be a key contributor, leading the design, development, and integration of mechanical systems within UAS projects. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience and technical expertise to drive the success of our UAS initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Mechanical Design and Development:
1. Lead the design and development of mechanical components and structures for UAV systems.
2. Experience with developing using composite materials.
3. Preparing detailed manufacturing drawings.
4. Conduct stress analysis, thermal analysis, and material selection for UAV components.
5. Ensure that mechanical designs meet manufacturability and Maintainability, performance, reliability, and safety requirements.
6. Design tools and jigs for manufacturing processes.
Integration and Testing:
1. Integrate mechanical components with avionics, sensors, communication systems, and other UAV subsystems.
2. Develop and execute testing protocols to validate the performance and durability of mechanical systems.
3. Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues during the development and testing phases.
Project Management:
1. Manage and oversee mechanical engineering activities in alignment with project timelines and objectives.
2. Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers for the procurement and fabrication of mechanical parts.
3. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Collaboration:
1. Work closely with cross-functional teams including electrical, software, and systems engineering.
2. Support flight testing and operational activities by providing mechanical expertise.
3. Collaborate with the manufacturing team to transition designs from prototype to production.
Innovation and Improvement:
1. Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation in mechanical design.
2. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the performance and efficiency of UAV systems.
Documentation:
Prepare and maintain comprehensive design, integration, and testing documentation for mechanical systems.
Certification:
1. Liaise with CAAi for technical certification activities.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 5-6 years of proven experience in mechanical engineering within the UAV sector.
• Hands-on experience in the design, development, and integration of mechanical systems for UAVs.
• Bachelor or master degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and structural analysis.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) and simulation tools.
• Experience in project management and working with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience with certification processes for UAVs is advantageous.
• Innovative mindset with a passion for staying at the forefront of technological advancements.
• Proficiency in English and Hebrew languages.
