Faculty IT Manager

Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences

We are seeking an experienced Faculty IT Manager to lead and manage the faculty’s computing and IT operations. This is a hands-on leadership role combining infrastructure management, user support, systems administration, and team leadership in a complex academic environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the faculty’s IT operations, including servers, software, and end-user computing across the faculty administration and supported departments.
Provide professional guidance, technical support, and troubleshooting for faculty staff and users.
Manage, maintain, and develop the faculty website and supported departmental websites.
Advise faculty members on the procurement of computing equipment and IT solutions.
Maintain computing equipment in supported laboratories and manage relationships with external vendors and service providers.
Ensure backup, availability, and reliability of faculty IT systems.
Serve as the main liaison with the central IT & Information Systems Division.
Provide professional support and backup to departmental IT staff.
Lead and manage the technical IT team within the faculty.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems Engineering, or Computer Science.
At least 4 years of relevant hands-on experience in IT operations and infrastructure.
Proven experience with PC and Mac hardware, operating systems, networking, and software support.
Experience managing Microsoft and Linux servers.
Experience writing scripts using Bash and PowerShell.
Advantage: Experience with programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, SQL.
Advantage: Experience maintaining MySQL and FileMaker servers and database management.
Advantage: Experience managing and leading technical teams.
Advantage: Experience in training and knowledge sharing.
