VLSI Design Engineer

The R&D center of a highly successful international tech leader specializing in advanced semiconductor technologies, including chips, memory systems, cellular, and video solutions.

You will join the Flash Memory Group, responsible for the development of next-generation SSD, eMMC/UFS, and high-end memory products.

The team focuses on cutting-edge research in signal processing algorithms and system architecture, utilizing Machine Learning, error correction codes (ECC), and data security to define the future of storage.

Located in Tel Aviv (adjacent to the Train and Light Rail), the company employs approximately 500 people in Israel and offers a hybrid model with two days of remote work.

The Role-

• IP Development: Designing and developing innovative Flash solution IPs for advanced memory hardware.
• Micro-Architecture: Defining and designing the micro-architecture for complex algorithmic hardware components.
• Research & Simulation: Conducting architectural research, including detailed modeling and simulations of hardware and algorithm performance.
• End-to-End Ownership: Leading IP design from the initial architecture definition phase through RTL implementation to successful tape-out.
• Innovation: Developing state-of-the-art solutions in fields such as signal processing, encryption, and low-power hardware design.

Requirements-

• B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from a leading university.
• 5+ years of experience in complex VLSI design.
• Proven experience in VLSI micro-architecture.
• Strong background in leading design processes from architecture to RTL and Tape-out.
• M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering – Significant advantage.
• Experience with architecture/micro-architecture of complex algorithm hardware – Advantage.
• Knowledge of power management techniques and low-power design – Advantage.
• Familiarity with storage protocols (UFS/eMMC/NVMe) or Flash technology – Advantage.
