Project Director – Birthright Israel English Initiative

Birthright Israel is launching a bold new pilot that brings English-speaking participants to Israel in order to strengthen spoken English skills among children and teenagers in Israel’s geographic and socio-economic periphery. This initiative represents a new frontier for Birthright Israel—combining educational impact, community partnerships, and meaningful connections between Israel and global Jewish communities in a way not previously implemented.

We are seeking a senior educational leader with a strong entrepreneurial spirit to design, build, and lead this pilot from the ground up. This is a rare opportunity to develop a nationwide program that will impact communities across Israel, while engaging young Jews from around the world in meaningful activity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design all aspects of the pilot—from program model and pedagogical framework to partnerships with local authorities, participant recruitment, training, and evaluation

• Demonstrate a deep understanding of the Israeli education system, including experience working with government bodies and local authorities, and the ability to translate vision into operational execution

We are looking for a leader who brings a combination of educational expertise, strategic thinking, and hands-on execution to create a program with long-term impact on Israel’s periphery and the global Jewish community.

Position Details:

• Project duration: approximately one year, with the possibility of extension

• Engagement type: consultancy (outsourcing), invoicing-based

Requirements:

• Proven experience in designing and launching educational programs or pilot initiatives

• Experience working with local authorities, the Ministry of Education, or national educational organizations

• Familiarity with Israel’s geographic and socio-economic periphery

• Experience building partnerships with schools, community centers, or municipalities

• Experience in ESL, informal education, experiential learning, or teacher training

• Ability to manage complex logistics and coordinate across multiple stakeholders

• Strong entrepreneurial leadership capabilities

• Relevant experience in teaching English – a significant advantage

• Familiarity with global Jewish communities – a significant advantage

תגלית משיקה פיילוט חדש ונועז שמביא משתתפים דוברי אנגלית לישראל, במטרה לחזק את כישורי האנגלית המדוברת בקרב ילדים ובני נוער באזורי הפריפריה הגיאוגרפית והחברתית-כלכלית של ישראל. יוזמה זו מייצגת חזית חדשה עבור תגלית: שילוב של השפעה חינוכית, שותפויות קהילתיות וחיבור בין ישראל ליהדות התפוצות – באופן שלא נעשה בעבר.

אנו מחפשים מנהיג/ה חינוכי/ת בכיר/ה ובעל/ת רוח יזמית, שיתכנן, יבנה ויוביל את הפיילוט מהיסוד. זוהי הזדמנות נדירה לתכנן תוכנית בקנה מידה ארצי שתשפיע על קהילות ברחבי ישראל, תוך שילוב צעירים יהודים מהעולם בפעילות משמעותית.

תחומי אחריות:

עיצוב כל היבטי הפיילוט – החל ממודל התוכנית ומסגרת פדגוגית, דרך שותפויות עם רשויות מקומיות, גיוס משתתפים, הכשרה והערכה.

הבנה עמוקה של מערכת החינוך בישראל, ניסיון בעבודה מול גופים ממשלתיים ורשויות מקומיות, ויכולת לתרגם חזון למציאות תפעולית.

אנו מחפשים מנהיג/ה שמביא/ה שילוב של מומחיות חינוכית, חשיבה אסטרטגית וביצוע בפועל, כדי ליצור תוכנית בעלת השפעה ארוכת טווח על הפריפריה בישראל ועל הקהילה היהודית הגלובלית.

מדובר בפרוייקט למשך כשנה עם אופציה להמשך. אפשרי כעבודה כנגד הצגת חשבונית (אואטסורסינג)

דרישות התפקיד:

• ניסיון בתכנון והקמה של תוכניות חינוכיות או פיילוטים
• עבודה מול רשויות מקומיות, משרד החינוך או עמותות חינוכיות ארציות
• היכרות עם הפריפריה בישראל
• ניסיון בבניית שותפויות עם בתי ספר, מרכזים קהילתיים או רשויות
• ניסיון ב-ESL, חינוך בלתי פורמלי, למידה חווייתית או הכשרת מורים
• יכולת ניהול לוגיסטיקה מורכבת ותיאום בין ארגונים
• מנהיגות יזמית ברמה גבוהה,
• ניסיון רלוונטי בהוראת השפה האנגלית – יתרון משמעותי
• היכרות עם קהילות יהודיות ברחבי העולם – יתרון משמעותי
