Cyber Team Leader

We are seeking Cyber Team Leader to join the Security group, reporting to the CISO. We are looking for an experienced cybersecurity professional to lead the SecOps and AppSec fields in Papaya. We need a team player, an independent and responsible person, who wants to work in a challenging and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of SecOps and AppSec professionals, setting priorities, driving execution, and fostering a high-performance team culture
• Define team vision/roadmap and track operational KPIs
• Design and build an AI-native cybersecurity operation - spanning logging, monitoring, incident detection and response, including agentic workflows for security operations and a security data lake
• Partner with R&D to identify, assess, and remediate cloud and application security vulnerabilities
• Work hands-on alongside the team on existing security systems and the implementation of new tooling and controls
• Lead POCs and product evaluations for security technologies, driving informed buy vs. build decisions
• Collaborate closely with IT and GRC teams on cross-functional cybersecurity topics, ensuring alignment across the security organization
  
  

• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity
• 3+ years of experience leading cybersecurity teams
• Strong hands-on background in security operations, including SIEM and SOC management
• Experience with SOAR platforms and security automation workflows
• Scripting proficiency - Python/Bash
• Strong background in cloud security, AWS preferred
• Working knowledge of application security (SAST, DAST, vulnerability management, secure SDLC)
• AI-native mindset - solid understanding of LLM concepts with hands-on experience applying them. Actively uses AI tools to improve workflows, decision-making, and operational efficiency - Must
• Great communication skills, highly proficient in spoken and written English
