Caddie is hiring on behalf of a fast-growing, venture-backed observability company building next-generation telemetry and monitoring infrastructure.

Team Focus: Designed for the Intelligent Edge, Revenue Engineering, or Platform teams.

The Opportunity

This company believes that getting deep insights should be easy and accessible. They are looking for a Senior Product Engineer to join one of their core backend teams—building everything from high-scale data pipelines and the Intelligent Edge to the usage-based billing systems that power the business.

The Challenge You'll Tackle:

• Build for Massive Scale: Whether it’s processing billions of signals at the Edge or architecting core ingestion pipelines, the engineer will build highly scalable and resilient backend services in Go.
• Solve Data Engineering Puzzles: The role involves tackling challenges like efficiently querying terabytes of data in ClickHouse or ensuring data accuracy in complex metering systems where "money is involved".
• Bridge Product and Engineering: This is a true Product Engineer role, not just coding. The engineer will collaborate with product teams to evaluate the economic efficiency of technical designs and ensure maximum customer value.
• Foster Technical Excellence: The engineer will define standards for code quality and testing, mentor teammates, and ensure systems remain maintainable as the platform scales.

What Success Looks Like (and How You'll Get There):

• Within 1 week: The engineer will have shipped their first piece of production-ready code.
• Within 3 months: They will have shipped significant backend features—such as new aggregation capabilities for the Edge or improved usage dashboards for billing.
• Within 6 months: They will become a go-to expert for key backend areas, mentoring others and driving best practices for Go services and OpenTelemetry distributions.
• Within 12 months: They will play a pivotal role in evolving the backend architecture to support the next generation of features, helping the company stay ahead in the observability market.

We're looking for someone who:

• Has extensive experience building and scaling distributed backend systems, primarily in Go (Java is a plus).
• Is familiar with high-performance storage like ClickHouse or messaging systems like Kafka.
• Has a "product mindset"—cares about end-user experience and the economic efficiency of code.
• Lives and breathes Observability and is familiar with OpenTelemetry and Prometheus.
