Mechanical Design Manager

A leading defense-tech company is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Manager to lead the development and design of advanced multidisciplinary systems in a dynamic and challenging engineering environment.

Description

• Lead and manage a team of mechanical engineers (professional and people management)

• Drive development and design of complex mechanical assemblies and systems, from concept through production

• Work closely with electronics, software, systems and manufacturing teams

• Lead design reviews (PDR, CDR) and ongoing engineering control processes

• Ensure compliance with performance, quality and schedule requirements

• Manage configuration control and engineering change orders (ECO)

• Support transfer from development to production (NPI)

• Work with suppliers and subcontractors

Requirements

• B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering – required | M.Sc. – advantage

• 7+ years of experience in mechanical design

• Experience developing complex multidisciplinary systems

• Team management experience – required

• Hands-on experience in opto-mechanics – required

• Proficiency in SolidWorks – required

• Experience with mechanical analysis (FEA) – advantage

• Understanding of manufacturing processes (DFM/DFA) and tolerancing
