Data Engineer - Tech Lead

Sheba Medical Center is undergoing a major transformation, building the next generation of Data & AI platforms to revolutionize healthcare.

As part of this journey, we are implementing a modern Data Lakehouse architecture powered by Databricks — turning complex healthcare data into actionable insights, enabling advanced analytics, and driving AI-based innovation.

We are looking for a Data Engineering Tech Lead who combines strong technical expertise with leadership capabilities. This is a unique opportunity to take part in shaping large-scale data infrastructure in one of the most advanced healthcare organizations.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of scalable Data Engineering infrastructure
• Build and optimize data pipelines and AI frameworks
• Work closely with architects, data scientists, analysts, and product teams
• Define and implement best practices, standards, and design patterns
• Develop reusable data solutions to support multiple teams
• Drive performance optimization and data reliability
• Implement Data/AI DevOps & FinOps practices
• Mentor and technically lead data engineers

Requirements:

• Proven experience in Data Engineering (hands-on)
• Strong experience with Apache Spark and Databricks
• Deep understanding of modern data architecture (Lakehouse / Data Platforms)
• Experience building end-to-end data pipelines
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services / Microsoft Azure
• Strong problem-solving skills and system-level thinking
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Databricks / Data Engineering)
• Experience with performance tuning and large-scale data environments
