About The Position

We are looking for a highly technical, hands-on Platform Backend Engeenir to join our Platform team.

This is a key technical leadership role for a senior backend/platform engineer who combines deep platform expertise with strong collaboration and communication skills. You will help shape the foundations of our engineering platform, lead important technical initiatives, and drive improvements in the way we build, deliver, and operate software.

The role is ideal for someone who is not only technically strong, but also a true people person — someone who enjoys working closely with others, building trust, creating alignment, mentoring teammates, and leading through influence. You will partner closely with engineers, product, and architects, and play a central role in improving both the platform itself and the engineering environment around it.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and evolution of core platform capabilities by translating business, product, and customer needs into robust technical solutions that support multiple products and teams
• Harness AI in day-to-day engineering work through practical adoption of AI-assisted development tools and workflows, while helping shape platform capabilities that support product-facing agentic applications
• Bring a strong problem-solving mindset to complex platform challenges, proactively identifying gaps and driving improvements across architecture, infrastructure, reliability, observability, security, and SaaS readiness
• Drive meaningful improvements in SDLC, engineering standards, and development processes to support high-quality and fast delivery
• Act as a technical leader by setting direction, creating alignment, mentoring others, and raising the bar for technical excellence and accountability
  
  

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in backend and platform engineering roles
• 5+ years of experience designing and building large-scale backend systems using Java
• 2+ years of experience working with Python (Advantage)
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes and modern cloud-native architectures in production environments
• Strong experience designing and architecting scalable, reliable, and maintainable production systems
• Solid experience working with relational databases and SQL
• Proven experience improving engineering processes, development workflows, and technical standards, with strong understanding of software engineering best practices, clean design, and functional and non-functional requirements
• Proven ability to lead technical initiatives, influence without authority, and drive alignment across teams through strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a proactive, supportive, and ownership-driven mindset
• Practical experience with AI development tools such as Cursor or similar tools, with curiosity and passion for applying them in day-to-day engineering work
  
  

• Experience with CI/CD, observability, reliability, and production operations
• Experience working in environments with a strong focus on security and compliance
• Experience supporting or driving SaaS transformation
• Familiarity with Azure and AWS
