Research and Development Project Manager

A leading technology company in the field of AI-based autonomous systems is looking for an R&D Project Manager (PMO) to join its growing R&D organization.

This is a hands-on, execution-driven role, focused on managing internal development projects. You will work closely with software engineers, algorithm developers, and cross-functional teams to ensure projects are progressing on time, within scope, and at high quality.

This role requires being deeply involved with engineering teams on a day-to-day basis.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end R&D project execution -from requirements to production
• Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables
• Build and manage detailed project plans (Gantt / Agile)
• Prioritize development features and align across teams
• Work closely with engineers to track progress
• Ensure strong communication between multidisciplinary teams
• Identify risks early and drive mitigation plans
• Manage timelines, dependencies, and change requests
• Prepare and present status updates to senior leadership (including CEO)
• Ensure deliverables meet quality standards
• Conduct post-project reviews and drive continuous improvement

Requirements

We’re looking for a hands-on, technically strong Project Manager with an engineering background who thrives in a startup environment and enjoys working closely with R&D teams to drive execution and delivery.

• B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Engineering or a related field
• 5+ years of experience managing end-to-end R&D projects (must include delivery to production / customer deployment)
• Proven experience in startup environments – MUST
• Experience managing multidisciplinary products
• Strong experience with Agile methodologies and/or Gantt planning
• Previous hands-on experience in software development / programming – MUST
• Ability to work closely with engineers and challenge timelines based on technical understanding
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (Hebrew & English)
• Strong presentation skills
