Senior Backend Tech Lead (Hands-on)

We are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Tech Lead (Hands-on) to join our team and take a key role in driving technical leadership and building high-scale systems.

This role combines 80%-90% hands-on backend development with architectural ownership, technical leadership, and building scalable, high-performance systems.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the technical direction of complex high-scale backend systems
• Design, develop, and maintain services handling millions of operations per day
• Work with modern technologies:
• Python, Java, SQL, REST APIs
• Build scalable architectures across Cloud and On-Prem environments
• Own features end-to-end: from concept to production
• Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and cross-functional teams
• Optimize system performance and improve existing infrastructure
• Work in an Agile environment across multiple teams

Requirements

• 10+ years of backend development experience (Python & Java)
• 5+ years of experience as a Tech Lead
• Proven experience building and supporting high-scale / distributed systems
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms: AWS / GCP / Azure
• Strong ownership mindset with end-to-end delivery capabilities
• High level of English (written and spoken)

Experience with:

• Spring / Hibernate or similar frameworks
• FastAPI / SQLAlchemy / Pydantic or equivalents
• Messaging and real-time systems (e.g., Redis, Celery, Sentry)
• Working with large-scale databases (preferably PostgreSQL)
• Agile methodologies

• Experience in fast-paced startup environments
• Strong DevOps background (CI/CD, deployment pipelines, automation)
