Software Team Leader (Embedded / Medical Devices)

Location: Tel Aviv (Hybrid)

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on Software Team Leader to lead a global development team building advanced software solutions for complex, real-world systems.

This is a key leadership role combining technical ownership with team management, focused on transforming system requirements into high-quality, production-grade medical products.

You will operate in a dynamic, international environment, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership

• Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, driving high performance and professional growth
• Own the end-to-end Agile development lifecycle: requirements analysis, sprint planning, development, testing, code reviews, CI/CD, and support for V&V
• Manage tasks, priorities, risks, and delivery timelines
• Build and scale the team, including hiring, onboarding, and training
• Develop a deep understanding of team capabilities, strengths, and areas for growth

Technical Leadership

• Take ownership of software development in C++ within embedded Linux (Yocto) and user-space environments
• Define and oversee system architecture and software design
• Lead integration across hardware and software components and between system modules
• Drive technical problem-solving and troubleshooting in complex systems

Quality, Documentation & Compliance

• Ensure development aligns with product lifecycle processes and regulatory standards (medical devices)
• Deliver high-quality documentation and maintain development standards
• Ensure traceability, reliability, and compliance throughout the development lifecycle

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a Team Leader
• Strong proficiency in C++
• 3+ years of experience developing software on Linux-based systems
• Experience with Design Patterns and complex system architecture
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and modern development practices
• Experience with CI/CD, Git, and configuration management
• Proven ability to analyze and work with complex systems
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills

Education & Experience

• B.Sc. in Computer Science or a related engineering field
• 5+ years of experience in R&D, preferably in embedded systems
