For a refinery company in Haifa, we are looking for a Lead AI Engineer.

Job Description:

We are seeking a Lead AI Engineer to lead the design and implementation of large-scale enterprise AI solutions.

The role combines architecture and hands-on development (50/50), with a focus on RAG systems and AI Agents, in a hybrid environment (Azure + On-Prem).

The candidate will play a key role within the team and will be responsible for driving technological innovation and integrating advanced solutions into daily organizational workflows.

Responsibilities:

Support business units and lead use cases

Design AI solution architectures based on LLMs, RAG, and Agents

Hands-on end-to-end development of AI services

Build RAG pipelines: ingestion, chunking, embeddings, retrieval

Integrate with enterprise systems (SharePoint, APIs, internal systems)

Develop reusable components for the AI platform

Work with Microsoft 365, Graph API, and Teams

Implement security mechanisms, permissions, and data leakage prevention

Train teams and implement best practices

Requirements:

Strong experience in Python development – mandatory

Proven experience developing RAG systems in production – mandatory

Experience with LLMs (Azure OpenAI / OpenAI) – mandatory

Experience designing complex systems – mandatory

Experience developing APIs – mandatory

Experience with Azure AI Search, App Services – advantage

Experience with Semantic Kernel / LangChain – advantage

Experience with SharePoint / Graph API – advantage

Experience working in a hybrid environment – advantage

Experience integrating with ERP systems (such as SAP) – advantage
