Head of Artificial Intelligence

Israel Hayom Group is looking for a Head of AI to lead the organization’s AI strategy and innovation efforts.

This is a unique opportunity to take a key leadership role at one of Israel’s leading media groups—shaping the future of digital journalism by integrating cutting-edge AI technologies into products, content, and business operations.

About the Role

As the Head of AI, you will define and execute the company’s AI vision—bridging advanced technologies with real business impact.

You will work cross-functionally with Product, Tech, Data, and Editorial teams to drive AI-first thinking across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and lead the company’s AI and innovation strategy
• Translate business and product needs into a clear technological roadmap
• Rapidly develop and launch AI-driven MVPs and pilots, and scale them to production
• Implement Generative AI solutions (LLMs, RAG, AI Agents) across CMS, data, and advertising platforms
• Partner closely with cross-functional teams to drive adoption and cultural change
• Build relationships with startups, academia, and global tech partners
• Establish ethical guidelines and best practices for responsible AI use

Requirements

• Proven experience leading AI initiatives in a complex organization or high-growth startup
• Strong hands-on experience with Generative AI tools and APIs
• Experience with prompt engineering and AI-based development tools
• Deep understanding of data, analytics, and data-product environments (BigQuery, GA4, BI tools)
• Ability to combine strategic thinking with execution

Nice to Have

• Background in media / content / digital publishing
• Experience with Python and AI frameworks (PyTorch, Hugging Face)
• Strong network within the AI ecosystem
