About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on Head of Finance to own and lead the company’s financial operations while also driving financial planning, investor reporting, and strategic decision-making.

This role combines day-to-day execution with forward-looking financial leadership and works closely with the COO (direct manager) and CEO.

Responsibilities

Financial Operations (Hands-on)

• Own day-to-day financial activities, including bookkeeping oversight, payments, payroll, and expenses
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
• Work with external accountants, auditors, and tax advisors
• Ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and internal controls

Reporting & Investor Relations

• Prepare quarterly management reports
• Build and maintain investor-ready financial reports
• Support board meetings with financial materials and insights
• Act as the main point of contact for financial questions from investors

Budgeting & Financial Planning

• Build and manage annual budgets and rolling forecasts
• Develop financial models to support growth and fundraising
• Track budget vs. actuals and highlight risks and opportunities
• Support fundraising processes with financial planning and scenarios

Strategic & Management Support

• Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to leadership
• Support strategic initiatives, pricing decisions, and growth planning
• Help management understand financial implications of key decisions

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in finance (startup or high-growth environment preferred)
• Proven experience in leading finance and management functions
• CPA certification
• Experience leading and owning day-to-day financial processes and decision-making
• Comfortable working independently and owning the full finance function
• Strong hands-on experience with financial operations and reporting
• Experience building budgets, forecasts, and financial models
• High attention to detail with the ability to think strategically
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with non-financial stakeholders

Nice to Have

• Startup or SaaS background
• Experience in legal matters related to finance (employee agreements, option grants)
• Experience in overseeing operational efforts (operations, HR)
