Drone Field Application Engineer

Position:

We’re hiring a Field Application Engineer.

A field-driven role focused on UAV integration, flight testing, and real-world system validation.

Working closely with R&D, from lab to live demos.

At Sightec, we develop real-time visual autonomy and navigation systems for UAVs operating in GPS-denied environments.

Our solutions are deployed by customers worldwide across the defence and HLS sectors.

We are looking for a Field Application Engineer with at least 2 years of hands-on experience in drone operation and system integration.

This is a field-oriented role focused on UAV testing, validation, and real-world deployment of Sightec’s visual autonomy and navigation systems.

The position requires proven experience in flying and integrating UAVs not just familiarity.

You’ll work closely with our software and algorithm teams, lead integrations, and support live demonstrations in Israel and abroad.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, execute, and document drone flight tests and field experiments.
• Lead system integration and validation of new software and hardware versions.
• Operate UAVs during development, testing, and live customer demonstrations.
• Monitor, log, and analyze system behavior during and after flights.
• Provide technical feedback and recommendations to R&D teams.
• Assist in developing tools and procedures for test automation and data collection.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of proven experience in UAV integration and testing, including flight controllers and mission software.
• Advantage: ArduPilot, PX4, QGC, Mission Planner)
• Hands-on experience in drone operation- must.
• Technical background in software or hardware integration (preferably embedded or vision systems).
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently in the field with a proactive and practical mindset, strong communication and teamwork skills, and experience in defence or industrial UAV applications (advantage).
