Product Owner - AI & Data, Satellite Team

On the defense side, we bring true real-time intelligence to the edge—anywhere, for any sensor, at any point on the map—enabling smart, real-time decisions in the field.

VISINT & Multi-Sensor Intelligence Platform

At Algolight, we are building large-scale AI systems that transform satellite and aerial data (EO, SAR, and beyond) into actionable intelligence.

These systems span:

• Massive data ingestion pipelines from spaceborne and airborne sensors
• Advanced AI/ML pipelines for detection, change analysis, and scene understanding
• Distributed compute environments for training, inference, and analytics
• Operational systems deployed in real-world, mission-critical environments

As a Product Owner, you will sit at the heart of this system—translating real operational needs into AI-driven capabilities, and ensuring that what we build delivers real-world impact.

🚀 What You’ll Be Responsible For

Product Ownership at the Squad Level

• Own the product within a cross-functional squad (AI, data, engineering)
• Define and drive product goals aligned with broader system and organizational strategy
• Ensure delivery of meaningful, high-impact capabilities—not just features

Translating Operational Needs into Product

• Work closely with:
• operational users (analysts, interpreters, field teams)
• internal stakeholders
• Translate real-world needs into:
• clear product requirements
• user stories
• technical specifications
• Bridge the gap between mission needs and AI capabilities

Backlog Management & Prioritization

• Own and manage the product backlog
• Prioritize work based on:
• operational impact
• business value
• technical feasibility
• Continuously refine and adapt priorities in a dynamic environment

End-to-End Product Lifecycle

• Lead the product through all stages:
• discovery
• definition
• development
• validation
• delivery
• Work closely with engineering and research teams to ensure smooth execution
• Ensure alignment between product vision and delivered capabilities

Data & AI Product Thinking

• Collaborate with:
• AI researchers
• data engineers
• MLOps / DevOps teams
• Help define:
• data requirements
• labeling strategies
• model evaluation criteria
• Ensure that AI systems are built with real-world usability and performance in mind

User Validation & Feedback Loops

• Work directly with end users to:
• validate product features
• gather feedback
• identify pain points
• Drive fast iteration cycles based on real-world usage
• Ensure the product evolves toward operational relevance and usability

Metrics, KPIs & Product Success

• Define and track product success metrics, including:
• operational effectiveness
• accuracy and reliability
• user adoption and satisfaction
• Use data-driven insights to guide decisions and improvements

Cross-Team Coordination

• Act as a central coordination point between:
• AI teams
• data teams
• engineering teams
• product and leadership
• Ensure alignment across:
• data → models → systems → users

🎯 What We Are Looking For

Required Experience

• 3+ years of experience in Product Management or Product Ownership
• Proven experience working in Agile environments
• Strong experience managing backlogs and product delivery cycles

Core Strengths

• Ability to translate business or operational needs into product requirements
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management
• Ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams

Technical Understanding

• Solid understanding of:
• software systems
• data pipelines
• AI/ML concepts (at a high level)
• Ability to collaborate deeply with technical teams
