About the Role:

Eyeviation is seeking a Data Lead who thrives in the early “zero-to-one” stage. This is a founding role for an expert who wants to build the data culture, architecture, and strategy from the ground up.

As our first dedicated Data Lead, you will bridge the gap between raw research and a production-ready AI engine. You will own the logic and integrity of our data ecosystem, ensuring our "Human-Aware" technology evolves into a scalable, real-world deployment. Working closely with R&D and Product leadership, you will influence how our system perceives human intent, how users interact with AI feedback, and how our data supports our first enterprise customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Foundational Data Ownership: Establish the design processes, data standards, and analytical priorities as the platform moves from R&D to a production-ready system.
• End-to-End Architecture: Own the technical data identity-from multi-sensor fusion (eye tracking, motion) to data-heavy dashboards.
• Full Lifecycle Ownership: Take full ownership of the data lifecycle by personally implementing the statistical frameworks, signal-processing algorithms, and validation pipelines required to turn experimental VR data into production-ready intelligence.
• Experimental Leadership: Design and oversee experiments with human subjects to ensure our cognitive engine is backed by rigorous, validated data.
• Customer-Driven Analytics: Engage with early customers to understand real-world training challenges and translate them into data-informed product solutions.
• Scaling the Future: Define the roadmap for the data department and, as we grow, recruit and mentor the team that will carry your vision forward.

Technical Stack & Environment

• Platform: VR (Unity3D-sourced data), Web (React/Next.js Dashboards)
• Tools: Python (Pandas, Scikit-learn, SciPy), SQL, Signal Processing toolkits
• Hardware: VR Headsets, high-fidelity sensors (Eye-tracking, EEG, motion input)

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Data Science with a proven track record of building complex products.
• Master’s in a quantitative field (e.g., Physics, Neuroscience, CS) with strong knowledge of statistics, experimental design, and end-to-end data analysis pipelines.
• Signal Processing & ML Mastery: Deep experience with classical machine learning methods and "noisy" sensor data/human behavioral measurements.
• Expert Python Skills: Highly proficient in programming for modeling and data implementation.
• Zero-to-One Mindset: A history of building systems from scratch rather than just maintaining them.
• Hands-on Grit: The ability to move from high-level concepts to final, production-ready data assets and models.

Bonus Qualifications

• Previous team leadership or management experience.
• Experience working with VR data or immersive environments.
• Experience with eye tracking, EEG, or other sensor-based behavioral data.
• Knowledge of 3D motion or trajectory analysis.
