Radio Communication Systems Engineer

We are looking for a Radio Communication Systems Engineer to join the Systems & Engineering Division at IAI.

The position includes:

• End-to-end system-level perspective of the satellite payload and communication chain

• Defining RF system requirements according to mission needs

• Design and analysis of RF system chains (TX/RX) for communication satellites

• Analyzing radio communication system requirements, including link budget and communication availability (LOS/satellite)

• Working with multidisciplinary interfaces such as algorithms, software, hardware, firmware, mechanics, and integration

• Engineering management of subcontractors

• Leading and conducting design reviews (PDR, CDR) and writing test documentation (ATP, ATR, TRD)

• Participation in system tests in Israel and abroad

• Integration of telemetry communication systems

What we’re looking for:

• B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, with specialization in RF communications – must

• At least 5 years of experience in development and system engineering of radio communication systems

• Experience in RF circuit design and digital sections (including modem performance analysis: modulation types, FEC codes, robustness techniques)

• Hands-on experience with RF test and measurement equipment for wireless communication systems

• Strong system-level thinking

• Knowledge of standards and regulations

• Knowledge of antennas

• Advantage: in-depth knowledge in one or more of the following:

o Modulation techniques: BPSK, QPSK, Digital PM

o IF Filter implementations + Frequency Discriminator

o Optimization methods for link budget calculations

o M.Sc. in Engineering – advantage
