Java Team Lead (Backend)
GTH Software is a leading software company specializing in large-scale online i-gaming platforms. We are looking for a hands-on Java Team Lead to join our Backend department and lead a small team while remaining actively involved in development.
Role overview
- Lead a team of 3–4 backend engineers
- Be hands-on 30–50% of the time, contributing directly to development
- Take ownership of backend design, code quality, and technical decision-making
- Participate in planning, estimations, and product discussions
- Collaborate with DevOps on CI/CD and system reliability
- Interview and mentor team members
Requirements
- 5+ years of Java backend development experience
- 2+ years in a technical leadership or team lead role
- Strong experience with Spring / Spring Boot
- Experience designing and maintaining scalable backend systems
- Solid understanding of object-oriented design and best practices
- Experience working with databases and complex queries
- Strong communication and leadership skills
Nice to have
- Experience with Kafka and/or Elasticsearch
