R&D Team Lead

Behind this experience is a modern engineering platform that processes massive traffic and powers one of Israel’s most widely used digital marketplaces.

We are looking for an R&D Team Lead to lead a team of talented Fullstack developers and help shape the future of our web platform.

This role combines technical leadership, product impact, and ownership.

Team leads at yad2 work closely with Product and report directly to the CTO, taking real responsibility for the systems and experiences they build.

We are also deeply integrating AI into our development workflow and product experience.

We expect our leaders to actively use modern AI development tools (such as Cursor, Claude code, etc.) to improve engineering velocity and help their teams work smarter.

What You Will Be Doing

• Lead and mentor a team of 4-6 Fullstack engineers, helping them grow technically and professionally
• Take full ownership of your team’s domain - architecture, planning, delivery, and production quality
• Design and evolve scalable systems that serve millions of users
• Work closely with Product, Design, and Data teams to translate ideas into impactful user experiences
• Drive engineering excellence and velocity, using modern AI development tools and engineering practices
• Contribute to the technical direction of the platform, influencing architecture decisions across teams
  
  

• Strong engineers who enjoy building systems and leading people
• 5+ years of experience in software development and 2+ experience leading developers or complex projects
• Hands-on experience with JavaScript / TypeScript, Node.js and React
• Experience building scalable, high traffic cloud systems
• Experience with microservices and modern distributed architectures
• Comfort using AI tools as part of the development workflow and excitement about the future of AI-assisted development
• A leader who takes ownership, empowers engineers, and raises the bar for the entire team
