The Role & Responsibilities-

• The Backend Team Lead manages a specialized engineering team across local and global sites, balancing strategic leadership (50%) with deep technical hands-on contribution (50%).
• Reporting to a Group Manager, the position oversees the architectural evolution of the company’s core backend systems:
• Team Leadership: Managing and mentoring a distributed team of engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaborative growth.
• High-Scale Architecture: Leading the design and implementation of complex Microservices within a robust, high-availability Cloud environment.
• Distributed Systems Engineering: Tackling deep-tier technical challenges related to High-Scale data processing and real-time system reliability.
• End-to-End Delivery: Overseeing the development lifecycle from architectural design to production deployment, ensuring elite code standards across the stack.
• Technical Stewardship: Guiding the team through a sophisticated technical ecosystem centered on Java, Kafka, Cassandra, and Postgres.

Requirements-

• 3 years of experience in a management/team lead role within an R&D environment – Mandatory.
• 7 years of professional software development experience with a master-level focus on Java – Mandatory.
• Proven experience in building and scaling Microservices in Cloud-native environments – Mandatory.
• Hands-on experience with at least one of the following: Kafka, Cassandra, or Postgres – Mandatory.
• Significant experience in Distributed Systems and handling massive, high-throughput data streams.
• A proactive leader with the ability to manage diverse teams and drive technical roadmaps in a global organizational setting.
