Embedded Linux Group Leader

The Role & Responsibilities-

• Reporting directly to the VP R&D, the Software Director will lead the global Embedded Linux organization, overseeing two international development groups.
• This is a strategic leadership position with full accountability for the next generation of security hardware and software:
• Global Leadership: Directly managing 10-12 engineers and recruiting future Team Leads to scale the organization’s capabilities.
• Architectural Ownership: Defining the high-level and low-level Embedded Linux architecture, ensuring the robustness and scalability of diverse IoT devices.
• Strategic Execution: Setting R&D methodologies, leading strategic technical forums, and overseeing code quality (Code Reviews) to maintain elite engineering standards.
• Cross-Continent Management: Synchronizing development efforts between local and global sites (including India) to deliver unified, high-performance security solutions.
• Technical Authority: Remaining hands-on (approx. 10%) with critical system components, including Board Bring-up, Hardware Integration, and complex low-level debugging.

Requirements-

• 5 years of management experience, including a proven track record in a senior leadership role (Group Lead / Director) – Mandatory.
• Organizational Scale: Experience managing teams of 10+ engineers – Mandatory.
• At least 10 years of deep-tier development experience in C/C++ for Embedded Systems – Mandatory.
• Strong technical depth in Linux Kernel, User Space, or Linux Internals – Mandatory.
• Familiarity with Device Drivers, Bootloaders (U-Boot), Yocto/Buildroot, and Hardware Integration (I2C, SPI, UART, USB) – Significant Advantage.
• IoT Experience: Background in developing connected devices and large-scale IoT ecosystems – Advantage.
