Financial Services Advisory Lead - Banking, Risk & Regulation

A leading consulting firm with a strong track record in governance, risk, compliance, and internal audit advisory is now expanding its activity into the banking sector. The firm already holds deep expertise across internal audit, risk management, compliance, forensic services, and financial regulation, and is looking to significantly strengthen its footprint within banks.

As part of this strategic growth, we are seeking a mid‑to‑senior manager from a bank’s head office, with strong domain expertise and a commercial mindset, to establish and lead a new advisory activity focused on the banking sector. This is a rare opportunity to move out of an internal banking role into a client‑facing, advisory leadership position, with real ownership and visibility.

What you will do:

• Lead the establishment and growth of a new advisory activity focused on banks – from strategy and positioning to execution and scaling.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in one or more areas such as risk, regulation, governance, or credit, and translate that expertise into structured consulting offerings.
• Lead complex advisory engagements with senior stakeholders in financial institutions (management, committees, boards, regulators).
• Turn your internal banking experience into practical, value‑adding solutions for clients – methodologies, frameworks, and implementation roadmaps.
• Position the firm as a trusted advisor in the banking sector and build long‑term client relationships.
• Identify, shape, and develop new business opportunities together with partners and other senior leaders.
• Collaborate with internal teams across risk, audit, and regulatory practices to deliver integrated solutions.
• Build, mentor, and lead a growing team over time.

What we are looking for:

• Mandatory: Experience as a manager within a bank’s head office (not branch, not consulting).
• 10+ years of experience in banking.
• Background in one or more of the following domains: risk management, credit, regulation, compliance, or governance.
• Proven experience leading teams, projects, or strategic initiatives at head‑office level, with significant stakeholder exposure.
• Demonstrated track record of working with senior stakeholders (management, committees, regulators) and influencing decision‑making.
• Strong understanding of banking processes and the regulatory environment.
• Strong professional presence and the ability to act as a credible advisor in front of senior executives.
• Business and commercial mindset – ability to identify opportunities, frame them as offerings, and engage clients around them.
• Readiness and motivation to move into a client‑facing, advisory and business‑building role (not an internal/execution‑only position).
• Fluent English.

Relevant current or past titles may include: Head of Risk, Risk Manager, Credit Manager, Compliance Manager, Regulatory Lead, or other head‑office managerial roles within a bank.
