Chief financial officer - CFO

We are looking for a hands-on Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to report directly to the CEO and take full ownership of the company’s financial management, control, and performance. This role is responsible not only for high-level financial leadership, but also for building strong financial discipline across the business and ensuring that the company is managed by budget, profitability, and control.

The ideal candidate is not only academically strong, but also highly practical. We are specifically looking for someone who understands the fundamentals of bookkeeping and accounting operations, has hands-on experience in those areas, and can effectively manage and supervise the accounting function. This is not a purely theoretical or reporting-based role. We need someone who knows the basics deeply, can control the details, and can translate financial insight into operational discipline across the company.

Responsibilities

• Report directly to the CEO and lead the company’s full financial function
• Own cash flow management, working capital, financial planning, and financial control
• Oversee accounting and controllership activities, including supervision of the bookkeeping/accounting team
• Build and maintain a strong budgeting and budget control system across the company
• Ensure the business is managed according to budget, with ongoing tracking of actual vs. planned performance
• Analyze company profit centers and business units to improve profitability and decision-making
• Work closely with all departments to ensure each function operates with maximum financial efficiency
• Monitor sales performance and margins to ensure commercial activity is profitable
• Analyze production efficiency, cost structure, and operational performance
• Work closely with procurement and operations to ensure correct purchasing and avoid excess inventory
• Build structured financial controls, reporting routines, and cross-functional chain-of-control processes
• Provide management with clear financial analysis, recommendations, and performance visibility to support business growth and discipline

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a CFO, Finance Director, Head of Finance, or senior finance leader in an operational business
• Strong practical knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting fundamentals
• Experience managing accounting staff or bookkeeping teams
• Strong understanding of cash flow, budgeting, cost control, profitability analysis, and financial reporting
• Ability to build financial controls and management systems, not only review reports
• Strong business and operational understanding across sales, production, procurement, inventory, and company-wide performance
• Hands-on, detail-oriented, and capable of combining strategic thinking with day-to-day financial control
• Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with the CEO and all company departments
