Senior Devops Engineer

We are recruiting for a well-funded Cybersecurity startup in Stealth Mode focused on the Identity space.

We’re looking for a senior, product-minded DevOps/Platform Engineer who treats production as mission-critical and thrives on building reliable, scalable systems.

The Role:

This is a hands-on DevOps role with a strong engineering mindset (~30% coding). You’ll own our infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and developer platform, while also contributing to backend services.

You’ll play a key role in shaping our architecture, improving developer velocity, and ensuring production reliability at the highest standards (think 5-nines).

What You’ll Do:

• Own and evolve our cloud infrastructure and platform (AWS-based)
• Design and manage Kubernetes clusters and deployment workflows
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and GitOps processes
• Develop internal tools and platform services for engineering teams
• Implement and improve observability (metrics, logs, tracing)
• Lead reliability, security, and incident response efforts
• Drive architectural decisions and mentor other engineers

Requirements:

• Deep expertise in Kubernetes (cluster operations, networking, RBAC, autoscaling, troubleshooting)
• Strong experience with Terraform (modules, state management) on AWS (EKS, VPC, RDS, IAM)
• Proven experience building CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, GitOps methodologies)
• Solid Docker experience (multi-stage builds, image hardening, security best practices)
• Hands-on experience with Helm (chart development and lifecycle management)
• Strong observability background (OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, SLO-driven mindset)
• Experience working with AWS services (EKS, RDS, VPC, ElastiCache, IAM/IRSA)
• Operational experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, and messaging systems (e.g., NATS)
• Production-first mindset: high availability (99.999%), zero-downtime deployments, rollback strategies
• Strong backend development experience:
• Python (FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, Pydantic, testing)
• Go (microservices, gRPC, protobuf)

Nice to Have:

• Experience with eBPF-based tooling
• Background in chaos engineering
• Experience in identity/authentication domains (MFA, SAML, OAuth/OIDC)
