Head of AI

About

We are looking for a Head of AI to join our R&D team and lead the development of the AI capabilities at the core of our product.

This is a hands-on engineering role with real ownership - you will be the first dedicated AI hire at Cymphony, setting the foundation for how we build and ship intelligent features. You'll have strong influence over the AI roadmap and a clear path to grow into leading a team as we scale.

What you'll do

• Design and build production-grade AI systems, including LLM-based features, agentic workflows, and ML-powered detection capabilities
• Take end-to-end ownership of AI features - from model selection and prompt engineering to deployment and monitoring
• Define and drive the AI product roadmap in close collaboration with the CTO and R&D team
• Establish the architectural foundations, tooling, and engineering practices for AI development at Cymphony
• Work closely with backend engineers to integrate AI capabilities into the product
• Champion and shape how AI tools are used internally across the engineering team - setting the standard for how we work with AI day-to-day
• Grow and mentor an AI team within the first 6–12 months

What we're looking for

• Strong hands-on experience building and deploying ML and AI systems in production
• Deep familiarity with LLMs and agentic system design - RAG pipelines, tool use, multi-step reasoning
• Solid grounding in classical ML - anomaly detection, statistical modeling, behavioral analysis
• Proficiency in Python and experience with MLOps - model lifecycle management, monitoring, and production reliability
• Experience owning AI features end-to-end, from experimentation through production
• Ability to operate independently in an early-stage environment with ambiguous requirements
• Strong communication and collaboration skills - you'll work closely with engineering, product, and leadership
