Software Architect

Leveraging Big Data and AI, the system manages the entire operational lifecycle for international shipping companies, significantly improving productivity, safety, and cost-efficiency.

The company is currently undergoing a major technological evolution, migrating to a next-generation architecture to support its 500 global employees and extensive international client base.

The company is located in Central Israel (prime high-tech hub with direct train access) and offers a highly flexible hybrid model with up to four days remote work.

Role Overview:

• Architectural Leadership: Joining an elite team of architects reporting directly to the VP R&D, driving the high-level design of the next-generation cloud platform.
• Hands-on Innovation: Maintaining a 30-40% hands-on presence, leading the implementation of critical core components and complex backend services.
• System Evolution: Overseeing the migration and modernization of the legacy stack into a scalable, data-driven microservices architecture.
• Cross-Team Mentorship: Collaborating with large development teams to establish best practices, design patterns, and high-performance coding standards.
• Data-Centric Design: Architecting sophisticated data solutions and integrations to support real-time maritime logistics and AI-driven insights.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience as a Software Architect – Mandatory.
• 10+ years of experience in Backend Development – Mandatory.
• Node.js Expertise: Proven track record of building scalable systems using Node.js – Mandatory.
• Database Mastery: Extensive experience with diverse Database technologies (Relational and NoSQL) – Mandatory.
• Deep understanding of Cloud-native architectures and distributed systems.
• Proven ability to lead complex technical transformations in a global R&D environment.
