About the Role

We are seeking a rare hybrid of a practical, hands-on Data Scientist and Analyst who can bridge the gap between data, the nuances of human behavior, sharp business-thinking, and creative problem-solving.

This role is central to advancing LepreCon's mission to combat fraud for financial institutions. You will lead the deep-dive analysis, model development, and validation that underpins our unique value proposition of high accuracy.

What You'll Do

• ML Model development: end-to-end development, testing, and deployment of Machine Learning models focused on predicting and detecting complex financial fraud and human manipulation patterns.
• Data Analytics: Architect and manage the rigorous analysis of vast banking and corporate datasets, ensuring data quality, feature engineering, and efficient extraction from diverse corporate DB environments.
• Insights & Strategy: Translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable algos and models for both the product team and customers.
• A critical component of this role is developing next-generation AI agents. You will be at the forefront of building autonomous, intelligent systems that leverage our proprietary algorithms to predict and block sophisticated scams in real-time.
• Team & Process: Establish best-in-class MLOps and analytical processes, fostering a culture of data rigor, ethical AI, and continuous model improvement
• Collaboration: Partner closely with Product, Engineering, customers, and executive stakeholders to establish the analytical roadmap.

Qualifications

Must Have:

•  A degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Engineering, Data Science, CS, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field).
• Minimum 3+ years in a senior Analytics, Data Science, or similar quantitative role, ideally within Financial Services or Fraud/Risk domain.
• mid-Expert-level proficiency in Machine Learning (deep learning, time-series, behavioral modeling) and statistical analysis.
• Practical experience working with sensitive, large-scale financial data and complex corporate database systems (SQL, distributed systems, cloud data platforms).
• Expertise in Python/R, SQL, and experience with modern MLOps standalone tools and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Highly Regarded:

• Master’s degree in the above.
• Experience in Fintech, Bank, Insurer, or Payments Processor.
• Understanding of insurance and/or banking operational processes.
• Familiarity with banking protocols (ISO 8583, SWIFT).
