A small and growing startup in the field of AI is looking for VP of R&D

Qualifications:

• Startup experience with a relentless drive to join a category-creating AI company, redefining Enterprise Execution Infrastructure, and a passion for building autonomous systems that decouple transaction volume from human headcount.
• Experienced with the complexities of Tier 1 enterprise architecture
• Expertise in production AI/ML and Agentic operations
• Experience with audit and compliance infrastructure
• Experience with observability across complex environments: monitoring autonomous agent behavior, telemetry capture, and performance degradation in isolated or highly restricted network environments.
• Approach engineering with an AI-native, automation-first mindset: prioritizing execution intelligence and system self-learning over manual software mapping
• 7+ years of proven hands-on production-grade development experience in Python, Cloud Native architectures, and scalable enterprise platforms.
• 5+ years of experience in scaling and managing elite, high-performing engineering and AI teams, capable of bridging the gap between foundational AI research and practical production reality.
• Experience with scalable infrastructure, zero-trust security models , and enterprise public clouds (specifically Azure OpenAI and AWS Bedrock).
• Experience implementing and managing advanced MLOps , rigorous model evaluation frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines specifically designed for non-deterministic software.
• Experience building platforms that ingest and process complex enterprise data (unstructured documents, behavioral telemetry) with extreme engineering discipline and system architecture expertise.
• Elite organizational capabilities: capable of acting as a highly credible technical authority in the room with Tier 1 enterprise CIOs and CDOs, while fostering a culture of ruthless execution internally.
