We're looking for an Onboarding Team Lead to own the end-to-end implementation and onboarding experience at Nominal — and to build the team that delivers it. You'll play a critical role at the intersection of product, engineering, and customer success, ensuring customers go live quickly, successfully, and expand over time.
This role is both hands-on and managerial. You'll personally lead complex customer implementations while also building, managing, and mentoring a growing onboarding team. You'll collaborate closely with Sales, Product, and R&D teams to influence the roadmap, validate new features, and ensure customers get measurable value from every release. You'll also define how onboarding works at Nominal — creating processes, measuring success, and continuously iterating to improve outcomes as we scale.
Requirements:
Responsibilities And Impact
- Lead end-to-end customer onboarding and implementation projects, from deal close and requirements gathering to go-live.
- Act as a trusted advisor to customers, providing technical guidance, data mapping, architectural support, and process design.
- Translate customer and business requirements into scalable technical solutions aligned with Nominal's product architecture.
- Partner with Sales on late-stage deals, including technical scoping and customer calls.
- Collaborate with Product and R&D teams to communicate customer needs, validate new capabilities, and drive continuous improvement.
- Pilot and deploy new features before general release, ensuring reliability, accuracy, and customer value.
- Work with customers to identify manual processes and translate them into Nominal automation opportunities.
- Design and build onboarding processes, playbooks, success metrics, and tooling — creating a repeatable, measurable, and continuously improving implementation motion.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with customer stakeholders and internal teams across time zones.
- Hire, manage, and mentor the onboarding team — setting standards, distributing work, and ensuring consistent delivery quality across the team.
Preferred Qualifications - Bonus
- Experience at a Big 4 accounting firm (audit, advisory, or financial systems implementation)
- Familiarity with accounting processes, data structures, and financial reporting
- Proficiency in SQL and Excel
- Fintech or financial tools experience
- Familiarity with ERP or accounting systems
- Experience working with Sales in pre-sales cycles
- Previous team leadership or people management experience
- Comfortable working with automation technologies or AI-driven workflows
